You’ve Got It All by The Jets (1986-87)

let’s head over to The Twin Cities– for“All This Love” by The Jets.

My research turned up so much interesting info about the group and the song, I feel the best way to pass it all along is by offering a list of Fascinating Facts!

***The Jets are a family group, The Wolfgramms, originally from the Kingdom of Tonga in the South Pacific. They immigrated to the US and settled into the Minneapolis suburb of Robbinsdale. That’s quite a change of scenery…and climate!

***The Jets are made up of the eight eldest of 17 children, most of whom were teens and pre-teens when they released “You’ve Got It All.”

***The song was composed by Rupert Holmes ( most famous for “The Pina Colada Song”), who wrote it for his 10 year old daughter, Wendy..who tragicallynever got to hear it because she died of an undiagnosed brain tumor before the song was released.

***The Jets’ lead singer on “You Got It All” was 12-year-old Elizabeth Wolfgramm, who had a difficult time relating to the lyrics–until the group’s manager told her to pretend she was singing to a puppy!

***The song was a triple chart hit in 1986 & 87, ” topping Billboard’s Adult Contemporary Chart, while reaching #2 on the R&B Chart and #3 on The Hot 100.

“You’ve Got it All” by The Jets: a fascinating addition to the list of Great Songs of the ’80s.
