Time is a river rolling into nowhere…so why not enjoy the finer things in life while we can?

That’s the message behind 1987’s “The Finer Things” by Steve Winwood.

The track was the fourth single from Steve’s classic 1986 album “Back in the High Life,” and the direct follow-up to the title cut.

Steve wrote it with his go-to lyricist Will Jennings, and called in James Ingram and Dan Hartman to provide some quality background vocals.

“The Finer Things” did MORE than fine on the charts, topping Billboard’s Adult Contemporary Chart, while reaching #5 on The Rock Chart and #8 on The Hot 100.

It was also Grammy nominated for “Song of the Year!

So not only was “The Finer Things” by Steve Winwood a Great Song…but one of “the finer things” on the radio in 1987…and here in 20-25!
