“Fire & Ice” by Pat Benatar (`1981)
Back in th day, Pat Benatar didn’t take any crap from anyone–at least in her music. In 1981’s “Fire and Ice,” she lets her lover know–in no uncertain terms–that she’s on to his little game: He’ll turn up the heat to get her, then leave her cold when he turns to ice.
The critic for Record World Magazine could definitely “feel the heat…praising the song’s “blistering guitars” and “vocal rage.”
Pat wrote the song, with guitarist Scott Sheets, and composer Tom Kelly, for her “Precious Time” album, and the single was an unqualified success…reaching #2 on Billboard’s Rock Chart. She also scored a Grammy Award for “Best Female Rock Performance.
So crank up the volume and feel the burn” with “Fire and Ice” by Pat Benatar:” a smokin’ hot Great Song of 1981!
